In the name of "Tai" a film by Ujjwal V. Thengdi....also the maker of Award Winning film "Vazzir"

“....A War For Peace!”

This did happen in the year....??And the movie leans towards ‘A True Story’??

Based on ‘Jaitapur’??... ‘Narmada Bachao’??... and Rampant Corruption!!

The movie is female oriented and leans closer towards a true story where in, an educated village woman, a law graduate, respectfully known
as “ Tai ”… ( an elder sister, played by Dr. Nishigandha Wad) she battles for a common cause of protecting acres of land; owned by the down
trodden village farmers and deprived poverty stricken village community, from the clutches of the corridor of Power….. Builders, Contractors …
The Land Sharks… and of course not to mention the ‘ hungry politicians ’..!!

Tai’s only misfortune amongst all her dedication towards the villagers is, that she lives with the burden of a hidden ‘skeleton’ which forces her
to spend her life alone…lonely! Her loneliness is filled by Betty (Suzanne, from Germany) a foreigner from U.K who is on a visit to India with
her friend Sanjeev ( Asrani) .

But little do they know that Tai’s village is their first and possibly the last stop!! Tai’s hidden ‘skeleton’ is revealed through a flashback
of her married life, her husband, Purshottam ( Parag Ajgaonkar) being a well to do land developer, but not successful enough to keep their
marriage alive… unfortunately her husband also has a hidden secret! until things go unbearably wrong one night
and Tai’s outburst forces her husband to confess… Sanjeev is proved to be a great support for Tai.

Mahesh( Mahesh Thakur), Tai’s secret and sacred admirer, is a constant guiding force, steps into Tai’s life, and she unknowingly gets
engulfed into his sensitive, humble life style…?? For a short spell of time she forgets her upright and firm personality… and ??
Tai’s image has prospered amongst the villagers and masses. At the same time she creates enemies in the political arena for obvious reasons. This conflict of interest doesn’t prevent
Mahesh/Sanjeev/Betty from constantly guarding / protecting her from the likes and dislikes of Subodhji (Ujjwal V. Thengdi) a matured and conniving politician who is placed as a
constant obstacle by the ruling political party to “Deal” with Tai.

During the course of battling for the villagers’ land, Satish (Saurabh) a youngster is drawn towards Tai. Her human quality allows her to take him under her wings by nurturing and
educating him. Satish’s attachment to Tai is short lived...

Despite the temptations, and the offers made by politicians (even by her own political friend, a Minister) Dr. Vilas (Dr. Vilas Ujawne) and her rival Subodhji ;who is hell bent on
destroying Tai; will she fall a prey to the baits offered and survive the pressures of the ruthless society/system and succumb to the power of corruption?? Or will Tai be victorious ??
Ujjwal Thengdi: Producer, Director, Story, Screenplay, Dialogues, Music, Lyrics, Vocalist, Choreography, Action, Acting & ...........you name it!!!

Ujjwal Thengdi is the proud recipient of 6 prestigious Maharashtra State Awards, and 3 Filmfare Awards for his debut regional film VAZIR.

He won his 1st ever Maharashtra State accolade for his docu-drama performance based on

“Alcoholism” in the year 1986, he then went on and participated in Maharashtra State Dramatic competition based on a revolutionary play and once again was bestowed with awards 2 independent awards, while 428 institutes participated.
It was in the year 1992 when Ujjwal Thengdi took the Film Industry not only by surprise but by shock when he shared his undeniable celluloid vision by producing / writing and even acting in his debut feature Film “VAZIR” a highly controversial film produced in the regional language.

VAZIR was undoubtedly an eye opener to the film Industry. It had created so much of controversy that the was banned by the censor board.

Ujjwal's strong passion and determination drove his creation and conviction a step further to the High Court, where Justice Lentin witnessed an undefeatable film maker's movie VAZIR and was approved.

Having won the battle, Ujjwal's Movie “Vazir” hit the auditoriums with a blaze, as it was screened in cinema halls all over Maharashtra , claiming Full Houses and endless cues. His success created ripples not only amongst the common man or woman, but amongst politicians and industrialists all over.

“VAZIR” was specially screened for; Bal Thakeray ,Manor Joshi , Sudhir Joshi , Mr & Mrs Vilasrao Deshmukh ( ex. CM Maharashtra)

It was also specially screened for Directors like ; Vinu Vinod Chopra ,Mr Nadiadwala. Ujjwal even had the pleasure of screening his movie for the actress from the golden era (the famous ) Solochana bai and the up coming Madhuri Dixit.

Amongst the Industrialists such as The Kilosakar family ,The Somani Family it was screened and appreciated by Dilip Vengsakar ( ex Indian captain test cricketer)

Ujjwal Remembers Left Tenant General Patil (Retd.) then in charge of Western Command, expressing that he considered the movie “VAZIR” to be a massive project back in the early 90's !

Vazir surely became Vazir that year, as it reached Silver Jubilee with 15 weeks of full house!!

Thus Ujjwal & Oum Films made their mark in the film industry, as well as change in regional cinema pattern….. a new lease of life with his unique focus and vision.

It is very rare for a man who knew nothing or very little about a camera, has managed to make a niche for himself in the Industry… a niche, big enough for him as a film maker to return and say lights, camera and action…….!!!

Ujjwal is once again all set to take a lot more than just the camera into his hands, as he has recently produced a Hindi Serial ( Pilot ) entitled “Sandhya- Ek Pyari Kahani ”

His future feature films; AVICHAR and DAHINA MOAD, are his projects out of the few, where the scripts are completely developed to suit the Indian ambience, which are likely to go on the floor in 2009.

Oum Films is inviting low budget joint venture proposals for project of Films / Theatre .
